Episode #31: CoachBallgame, Getting Kids to Love Baseball

Coach Ballgame has the unique ability to rally young players and draw them into the game. By combining the levity of props, jokes, and nicknames, he connects with the kids to help grow the sport of baseball.

If you’re a parent and especially if you’re a parent who coaches youth sports, this episode is filled with wonderful insights about what it means to help kids fall in love with something that they may be passionate about for a lifetime.

In this week’s episode of the #RaisingAthletes Podcast, we spoke with Kyle Weindel, the Associate Club Director and Coach for the Sunshine Volleyball Club. Sunshine is the #1 club in Southern California and is consistently ranked in the top 10 in the country. If you have a young athlete who is considering playing club and/or has dreams to play volleyball in college, you’ll want to hear this episode where we discuss what age to start playing, when to specialize and how to navigate club volleyball. For those who think they may want to play in college, listen in for what coaches are really looking for in a student/athlete.

Episode #27: Kim Christos, Founder & Managing Director of Girls LAX at Center court Club & Sports

Welcome parents to the #RaisingAthletes Podcast.

Let’s talk about LAX! Excited for the first time to have a former DI LAX player, Kim Christos on the podcast. Kim is now a LAX club director living in New Jersey, who is also a coach and mother of four athletes. We’re excited to have her on the podcast to speak about how best to support your athlete, how she navigated playing multiple sports and how she feels about specializing and at one age.

I love her advice on how to be the ideal sports parent… it’s juicy, wait for it.
