One of the most challenging skills to develop for many athletes is one of positive self-talk in challenging situations. What happens when you are down 3-19 in a volleyball match or losing your tennis match, 5-1? Do you fold? Do you surrender? Or do you chip away, one point at a time, until you shift not only the momentum but potentially the outcome of the game.
